Eureka Springs is home to a variety of things to see in do - from art galleries, to music shows, and everything in between. Most tourists know about the Great Passion Play, the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down, and some are even aware of our wildlife refuge at Turpentine Creek. However, there is so much more to see in do...even at just these three attractions!

The Great Passion PlayFor example, the Great Passion Play is more than just the #1 outdoor drama in America. Think of the Passion Play as more of a city, and you're a little closer to what all there is to see! You could spend days on the Passion Play grounds and never see it all. Experience the Christ of the Ozarks statue, take the New Holy Land Tour, visit the Sacred Arts Center, the Bible Museum, and don't forget the Museum of Earth History, too! And that's not even all. There is the wedding chapel, the Tabernacle Tour, the Berlin Wall, and Parables of the Potter. Think that's it? Nope - there's still more. You can bring the kids to the playground area, shop in 3 onsite gift shops, and even grab a bite to eat in the restaurant buffet and snack bar. That's several days of activities in just one location! Visit them online at www.greatpassionplay.com!

P. NuttNow let's move on to the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down. Maybe we should just start with a few comments from their guestbook this year:

  • "If I only had time to see one show, this would be the one...and if I could see more than one, I see this one twice."
  • "We really enjoyed your show. The comedy was terrific and the music was outstanding. Whatever you're doing - keep doing it. We spent 4 nights in Branson and other than Allison Krause and Union Station - your show was the best of all."
  • "This is one of the best music/comedy shows I have seen including the ones I have seen in Branson. Keep up the fantastic work. .."
  • "Awesome show! I have been to Branson several times, and I definately preferred this show to most seen in Branson..."
  • "The Hoe Down was absolutely FANTASTIC! Some of the best pickin and grinnin I've seen in a long time. My family loved it. Excellent musicians and singers, plus good clean comedy. I am spreading the word about the Hoe Down!"

We could stop there and tell you to just order tickets now, but we're going to brag a little more. The Ozark Ozark Mountain Hoe-DownMountain Hoe-Down was voted #1 in Country and Comedy. It was also selected as the theater location for the movie "War Eagle" and the producers chose to film the scene with the Hoe-Down band playing the music. The cast includes members that have played with Grand Ol' Opry, Joe Nichols, and even a co-writer to a Dove Award winning Gospel song. Ever heard of the rock band "Boston"? The drummer came from the Hoe-Down. How about Rascal Flatts? Joe Don Rooney played with the Hoe-Down before moving to Nashville. What we're saying is, the Hoe-Down is top-notch, professional entertainment at the highest standards. You can see two totally different shows in this theater by catching the matinee and the night show both. NOW, we're gonna tell you to just go ahead and reserve your tickets online at www.hoedown.net!

Turpentine Creek Wildlife RefugeSo, what's all the talk about Turpentine Creek? Here's the deal. Turpentine Creek is a wildlife refuge that rescues all kinds of big cats, bears, lions, and other wild animals. They are cared for, nurtured, and loved, and they run free in their protected environment. The kids go wild over the white tigers, and adults enjoy this unique animal safari as well. Turpentine Creek is a non-profit organization and Eureka Springs is proud to feature this wonderful attraction. Visit them online at www.turpentinecreek.org.

Oh, did we mention Eureka Springs has its own historic train? Take a train ride on the ESNA Railway and even share an elegant 1920's style dinnerEureka Springs Train Ride aboard, too! Do you know where the phrase "rock and roll" came from? We do! Ride the train, and the conductor will tell you, too! We rode the train with a field trip of 80 kindergarten students who were fascinated. It was hard to tell if the teachers or students enjoyed the trip the most! Check out the train at www.esnarailway.com!
